I looked for a long time for the right trainer for my two young horses, Fritz and Sassy. Fritz had been terribly abused as a colt before he was rescued by our local horse rescue which is where I bought him. I knew he would never overcome being hurt again, so my goal was to find a kind trainer, one who would train him to accept humans and be responsive to them, without fearing them. Chad Johnson is exactly what I was looking for! He trained my two horses beautifully. I couldn't be happier with the result and I heartily recommend him, without a moments hesitation, to anyone looking for a great horse trainer. An added bonus for me was meeting Chad's equally amazing wife Crystal, and their three darling children. They are a wonderful family, and have created a beautiful environment in the country to raise their children in. I can't wait to try Crystal's goat cheese and soap and look forward to seeing them all again in the future!

I have had the pleasure of knowing Chad and his family for over 10 years. I have entrusted Chad with my personal horses and have sent more than 20 horses to him for training and evaluations for placement, through the Missouri Forget-Me-Not Horse Rescue and Sanctuary. The horses from the Rescue may have been abused, abandoned, neglected or surrendered for many different reasons; and for a handful of these horses, Chad has been our last resort and hope to regain the horses’ trust, confidence and willingness to accept human companionship, in order to place them in safe and loving forever homes. Chad’s compassion for these magnificent animals resonates through his mutual respect and partnership between horse and man. He has a calm and natural approach to helping each horse learn through reassuring them to make good decisions and the right choices when asked. Chad has never turned down a horse in need and has accomplished amazing results with a few of our horses that were thought to be “hopeless”. Personally, I would never entrust my horses to anyone else!
